Presentation Skills for non-native speakers of English

Overview

This is a two-day workshop aimed at business people whose first language is not English and whose position in the company requires them to make presentations in English.  They may have fluency in general and business English but lack the self-confidence or effective training to stand up in front of an audience which will often include a majority of native English speakers.  The delegates on the workshop will have the double advantage of having a trainer experienced in both presentations and in teaching English language.

Objectives

• To provide a framework and practical input to assist non-native speakers of English to deliver presentations effectively and confidently
• To provide an opportunity for non-native speakers to start by viewing and analysing their existing presentation method through the use of video-cam recording
• To learn how to build a successful presentation from introduction to closure, including work on English pronunciation and using their voice to gain the listeners’ attention and respect
• To learn how to handle questions and give responses with confidence
