In-company and home tuition is offered on a one-to-one and group basis for learners of all levels of ability and from all backgrounds. Courses vary from one week’s intensive coaching through to regular sessions taken over many months.
On-line language training is offered providing ‘live’ classes with a native-speaking teachers via the internet and telephone.
We provide all potential learners with Needs Assessment forms to elicit from them important information regarding their language learning requirements and preferences. Our tutor then uses this information as a basis for a full face-to-face Needs Analysis with the learner at the start of the course.
During our contract and if requested we are happy to offer advice and assist HR Teams in sourcing language materials for a Learner Resource Centre.
We can offer specialist courses that focus on: meetings, presentation skills, negotiating skills and advanced writing. Please ask us for further details and sample course outlines.
At Babel, we recognise that on large language training programmes learners in a group miss out on the individual tutoring that one gains from one-to-one training. In order to address this issue, we like to include 'learner counselling' throughout the year for group learners. This means that during a scheduled session learners will have an opportunity to discuss their progress with their teacher on a one-to-one basis while the other learners are given a task to complete. Their tutor will be able to offer advice on how to improve their language learning and provide an update on how they are progressing as an individual and as part of the group.
We feel that it is important that the learners have opportunities both to use the language outside of the classroom environment and to learn more about the culture of the country whose language they are learning. We can organise events such as film evenings or wine tasting where learners can practise their language skills in a social setting at the same time as learning more about the culture of France.
For many of our clients we provide valuable language learning information and documentation for their intranet. Resources such as useful language websites, Babel’s “Learning to Learn” guide and cultural briefings for many countries can be offered. Important documentation such as our Needs Assessment form and exam syllabi can also be included.
